Jessica is passionate about helping couples return to a place of connection, respect, and admiration. She understands that conflicts and setbacks are inevitable in relationships, and that it’s how they are managed and resolved that is important. Jessica aims to improve communication and understanding among couples, increasing their overall relationship satisfaction.

Jessica is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. She holds a Master of Counselling from City University of Seattle and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Lethbridge. Jessica has experience providing counselling to individuals and couples in the areas of:

Experience

In her practice, Jessica primarily draws from attachment perspectives, as she believes that individuals learn to relate to themselves and others through early childhood relationships. These formative bonds unconsciously shape our beliefs and behaviours, providing a foundation for building present and future relationships. The security and closeness of these initial bonds can have an impact on our everyday functioning and the overall quality of our relationships.

Jessica helps individuals to heal from childhood traumas and free themselves from the emotional burdens of the past. Her approach encourages clients to take an active role in their life, living one that is meaningful and authentically theirs.

She utilizes techniques from various therapies, including psychodynamic, emotion-focused, interpersonal, cognitive-behavioural, and inner-child healing. Jessica has received training in Gottman Method Couples Counselling and is currently working towards her certification as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.

Jessica is kind-hearted and patient, seeing the good in absolutely everyone, which enables her to empathically walk with her clients during their challenges. She believes that the most important elements of therapy are an authentic relationship between the client and the therapist, and a high degree of trust in the therapist. Humans are relational beings, and working through emotions and challenges in the context of a supportive and understanding relationship is necessary for progress.

Jessica views each session as an opportunity to learn more about her clients and adapt the therapy to suit their unique needs and learning styles. She feels privileged to hear the stories of her clients’ lives, and she feels great joy in seeing their overall improvements.

Choose Jessica as your counsellor and experience the power of a supportive and understanding relationship on your journey towards a happier and healthier life.
