Gayatri Kainth

I believe that we all have the capacity to grow, heal, and navigate life’s challenges, even if it doesn’t feel that way.

M.A., Registered Psychologist

Starting therapy can feel unfamiliar. It’s normal to be a little nervous, have questions or feel unsure. Life can be challenging, and seeking support takes courage. Whatever brought you here today— stress, anxiety, relationship struggles, curiosity or just a desire to understand yourself better—I respect the reason that brought you here.

Therapy is not about being “fixed”, but it’s about understanding yourself, building on your strengths, uncovering your resilience and creating meaningful change. It isn’t just a space to walk in and talk through challenges, but also a space where you can share real, human moments, including lighthearted ones.

What our sessions will be like

In the first session, I will take time to understand the concerns that bring you to therapy and what you hope to work on. You are welcome to share what feels comfortable. We will set the goals together and the sessions will move at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.

In the sessions, I will work towards creating a supportive, collaborative, respectful, and culturally sensitive space where you can talk openly and learn tools to cope with stress, emotions, and life challenges.

While we’ll work on understanding feelings and building coping tools, there’s room for connection, warmth, and even a little humor along the way.

Throughout the process, your questions and feedback will always be welcome—I want this to work for you.

The approaches I bring to sessions

In my sessions, I use a strengths-based, client-centred approach, which I thoughtfully tailor to align with your own unique needs, goals, and lived experiences. My integrative therapeutic framework draws from:

Experience

I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and a member of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. I am also a member and Research Chair of the Canadian Federation of Clinical Hypnosis, Alberta Society.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Applied Psychology and a Master of Arts in Psychology from the University of Delhi, India. I am deeply committed to continuous growth and professional excellence. I actively engage in ongoing education, training, and professional development.

With over 25 years of experience, I have worked in a wide range of clinical settings. I enjoy working with culturally diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, couples, seniors, families, and blended families. To best support accessibility and continuity of care, I offer daytime, evening, and weekend appointments. I provide counselling services in English, Hindi, and Punjabi.

Outside of my work, I’m someone who loves listening to music, getting lost in a good book, going for walks, hiking, sitting by a lake or river taking in the calm and quiet, experimenting with new recipes, and spending time with my family.

I’m currently welcoming new clients. I would be honored to support you on your journey towards greater clarity, balance, and well-being. Reaching out can feel like a big step, and it’s okay to take it at your own pace. You can call, send an email, or simply send a message—whichever feels most comfortable. If you prefer, you can also book an appointment directly through the website.

I look forward to connecting with you, listening to your story, and working together to help you feel understood, supported, and empowered.
